Who is responsible for this data

Sabir is an unregistered peer support community run by Swati Kankan.

What is collected

Through the screening form:

• Your name
• Your contact details, including email address and phone number
• Your age
• Your city or region
• Information about your physical & mental health, including diagnoses, suspected diagnoses, symptoms, and how long you have been managing them (as per your desire to disclose)
• Information about how illness affects your work, relationships, and daily life
• What you are looking for from a peer support community
• How you found Sabir

If your application is accepted, joining the WhatsApp community means your phone number and display name become visible to other members.

Why it is collected

Your responses are used for one purpose: to decide whether Sabir is the right fit for you and whether you are the right fit for the community, and to contact you about that decision.

They are not used for publicity or marketing.

Where it is stored

The form is a Google Form and responses are stored in Google's services, on servers that may be located outside India. Google's own handling of that data is governed by its privacy policy.

The WhatsApp community runs on WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta and governed by its own privacy policy. Messages you send in the community are visible to every member of it.

How long it is kept

If you join Sabir, your form response is kept for as long as you are a member.

If your application is declined, or if you do not join, your response is deleted within 90 days of that decision.

If you leave the community, your form response is deleted within 90 days of you leaving. Messages you have already sent to the group remain visible to members who were there, because Sabir cannot delete them from other people's devices.

Your rights

You can ask, at any time, to:

• See what information Sabir holds about you
• Have it corrected if it is wrong
• Have it deleted
• Withdraw your consent to Sabir holding it

Withdrawing consent means your form response is deleted and, if you are a member, you are removed from the community.

Write to [email protected]. You will get a response within 30 days.

Children

Sabir is for adults. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not fill the form.
